Neonatology Consultants, provides services to legal firms as an expert in neonatology for both defense and plaintiff attorneys, and consulting services to hospitals with existing neonatal intensive care units, and to hospitals/healthcare organizations considering adding/restructuring neonatology services. We are also consultants to industry and investment firms regarding trends in neonatal care.

Dr. Howard Birenbaum is an experienced board-certified neonatologist with over 37 years of direct clinical experience. He has directed two Level III NICUs during his career in Maryland and is the author of several peer reviewed publications.

His interests include quality improvement activities, bubble CPAP, prevention of chronic lung disease, the judicious use of antibiotics for infants at risk for sepsis, neonatal nutrition, and reducing neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis.
